Mr. George Morgan, call signs VE3JQW and VE3GM, (issued by Industry Canada), has generously donated his radio equipment to the Almonte Amateur Radio Club. Some of this will be retained by the club for members use and some will be sold to sustain the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES); the clubs volunteer group of radio operators who can provide communications in the event of an emergency when regular services may be interrupted or compromised. The ARES group of the Almonte Club has installed and operates a digital communications system (D-STAR) that covers Lanark County.

Mr. Morgan, a radio amateur for many years, joins the rank of enthusiasts who recognizes the value of amateur radio not only as a hobby but also as a service to the community. The Almonte Club thanks Mr. Morgan for his donation.
