To celebrate their 25th anniversary, the Almonte Crazy Quilters are mounting a quilt show at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum. The group has always been dedicated to preserving and encouraging the craft of hand quilting. And has produced an abundance of outstanding work. Many of their finished quilts have been donated to raise funds for community projects.
The show will include up to 40 bed quilts – both hand made and machine quilted – as well as table runners, pillows, and wall hangings. There will also be a display of “mystery quilts,” quilts that demonstrate the impact of variation in colour and texture on the same pattern. Quilts undertaken as “round robins” or as the group’s annual challenge activity will also be featured.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see an exceptional display of quilting by this talented group. Inspired Creations opens at the Museum on June 30th and runs until July 25th, with a vernissage on Saturday, July 4th from 2 to 4 pm.
