Some activity has finally found the Almonte Ultramar station. Closed for months, it sat with its grey painted building and blocked off asphalt property, a blemish on charming Mill Street in Almonte. Workmen are now removing the underground gas tanks and fuel lines, which should improve the property's sale prospects. On Wednesday evening, four huge tanks were seen lying on the property; they were gone by Thursday afternoon. A workman said that the tanks are actually not large for a gas station and that is requires digging 14 or more feet into the ground to remove them. The contaminated soil had also been removed
