The Town of Mississippi Mills has received calls from residents about companies going door to door offering water-quality testing and sales of in-home water treatment systems.
These companies have implied on several occasions that they are working with the municipality on a water-quality inspection program.
The Town advises residents that it has no affiliation with any of these companies or their door-to-door sales. The only official water-quality sampling carried out here is conducted by Town employees or staff of the Ontario Clean Water Agency.
In all cases where testing is required, the Town contacts residents in advance to advise of the purpose of any program being carried out.
