Monday May 4th starting at 6pm, is the date of our 10th annual Food, Beer and Wine Gala “For a Taste of the County”, at Almonte’s Civitan Hall on Wolf Grove Road.

Last year was a great success with over 200 people sampling the culinary delights of the Ottawa Valley’s best chefs. This year’s lineup of deliciousness includes: Ballygiblin’s Restaurant and Pub, the Barley Mow, Beau’s Beer, Cafe Postino, Constellation Wines, Foodies Fine Foods, Generations Inn, Ginger Café, Good Food Company, Harwood Estates Winery, Moose McGuires, Perth Brewery & Slackoni’s Fine Italian Cuisine.

The wonderful food is complemented by wine and beer, served to you by experts who can help you choose and explain the different selections. In addition to the $10 entry, gala goers will purchase $1 coupons and each vendor will price their tasters between 1 coupon and 6 coupons so that you have the opportunity to sample many different appetizers, main courses and desserts.

Between the main courses and dessert you can also bid in the silent auction. All of the items are donated by local artists, artisans, businesses, and program supporters. The auction includes: original paintings and photographs, gift certificates, pottery, horse paraphernalia, collectables, wine, stained glass, toys, antiques, and many other items. This really is a one of a kind auction featuring a huge variety of incredible stuff that you can get for a steal. Last year we had over 170 items in the auction and every penny collected goes to the riding program.

Tickets are on sale now for $10 each in Carleton Place at Reads Books, the Ginger Cafe & Lanark Community Programs. They are also available at Mill St Books in Almonte or I can reserve some for you at the door if you contact me at the number below.

Please join us for A Taste of the County on Monday, May 4th 6:00 -9:00 pm. Grab your tickets before they’re gone and help support our riders. Donations are now being accepted for the silent auction and we would be happy to arrange pick up.
