On behalf of the patients, residents, staff and physicians of the Almonte General Hospital and Fairview Manor (AGH/FVM), I would like to thank all our volunteers for their generous contributions of time and energy as integral members of our team.
Volunteers work in every area, providing companionship, comfort, support and refreshment to patients and residents.
Our volunteers organize an impressive program of activities, such as bingo and other games, and parties to celebrate special events. Musicians volunteer their services to provide entertainment.
Another group of volunteers secures the artwork that helps to provide a welcoming environment for patients, residents and their loved ones.
Volunteers provide tremendous support to our staff by helping with menu distribution, chart preparation and reception duties. We also appreciate the fundraising they do through the gift shop, tuck shop, bake sales and other events.
We are grateful to the many volunteers who organize special events and activities in the community, raising funds on behalf of the AGH/FVM Foundation to purchase equipment for the Hospital and Manor.
I would also like to acknowledge the members of the Volunteer Services Committee and the Auxiliary, who are volunteers supporting volunteers, and thank them for their hard work.
The members of the Hospital and Foundation boards are all volunteers who give many hours of their time to provide guidance, oversight and leadership.
Every volunteer who supports the Almonte General Hospital and Fairview Manor makes an important contribution to the lives of our patients and residents. Thank you for your dedication.
Adult and Junior Volunteers Needed
We have immediate openings for Adult and Junior Volunteers. Adult Volunteers work in the Hospital/Manor year-round. Junior Volunteers work during the summer. The Junior Volunteer program is offered in one-week blocks from June 29 to August 31, except for Canada Day and the Civic Holiday. Anyone wishing to volunteer must complete an application form and be interviewed before being accepted into the program.
Applications for Junior Volunteer positions must be submitted no later than April 23. Adult Volunteer applications are accepted at any time. Training and orientation are mandatory for all volunteers.
