The town of Mississippi Mills has been successful in its application for a $12,100 grant from the Cenotaph/Monument Restoration program, run by Veterans Affairs Canada. This will cover 50% of the total cost of $24,2oo to restore the Almonte Cenotaph. Work will begin shortly to repair and conserve the masonry, as well as to move, clean and wax the sculpture, and to add previously-missing names.

The remaining $12,100 cost of the project will be paid for by a $1,000 donation from Branch 240 of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Town reserve of $6,700, and the by taxation.
