The Almonte Hub and its hospice initiative are featured in the Ottawa Citizen

Almonte’s well-known nearly-new shop, The Hub, has made it into the Ottawa Citizen. As noted by Citizen reporter Patrick Langston, you can outfit an entire family at The Hub for less than a week’s grocery bill.

In addition to all the other causes it supports, to the tune of about $50,000 per year, the Hub and its sister store Rebound (for furniture and electronics) now supports the hospice initiative in Mississippi Mills. Launched with  a donation of $10,000 from the Hub, the hospice initiative will assist people with end of life care in their own homes, providing professionals and volunteers to support the patient and family.

Hub president Glenda Jones calls it a mobile hospice as it will initially be entirely home-centred. It should be operating by the fall of 2013 at the latest.
