The Millstone welcomes Erica Eades to its reporting staff. Erica is an Arts & Culture writer based in Almonte. She graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax in the spring of 2012, earning a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Journalism Studies.
During her final year at Dal, Erica worked as both Arts Editor and Copy Editor of The Dalhousie Gazette, North America’s oldest continually operating student newspaper. It was her involvement with campus media that made her fall head over heels in love with arts journalism — something she now hopes to pursue on a more serious level.
When she’s not writing or reading, Erica can usually be found kayaking and birdwatching with her dad, wandering around town taking way too many photos, or trying to teach herself to play the guitar.
Erica is starting her reporting for the Millstone by contributing a series of feature articles on quality B&B’s in Mississippi Mills. See her first article on the Menzies House 1850 in Almonte here.
