Turtle fence on Dwyer Hill Road

Have you wondered what the workmen have been doing recently on Dwyer Hill Road, installing a wire fence in the ditch on both sides of the road? Well, that is a turtle fence to protect the Blanding’s Turtle, a threatened species. It is being installed by the City of Ottawa at a cost of $700,000 to prevent the turtles being killed by vehicles on the road. Read the full story here.
