The Mill of Kintail will be hosting an outdoor event to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10:00 to 4:00.

This Confederation Celebration will highlight a day in the life of our early settlers, with hands-on history and fun activities for the whole family.

Start with a horse-drawn wagon ride to our pioneer demonstration stations. Or meander down to the Makers’ Market and shop at many of our homespun craft tables. Watch a blacksmith at work. Take part in an old-fashioned spelling bee at our log cabin schoolhouse. Dress in period costumes, complete with bloomers and bonnets and pose for a portrait. Make butter the s-l-o-w food way and then scrub your linens with washboards and hang them up to dry. Enjoy live old-time music, a family barbeque, and children’s games and races. Visit the Heritage Hamlets displays to learn more about the early villages of Mississippi Mills. Find out how our local pioneers worked and played.

Bring the whole family for the day and go home with a memories to last a lifetime.

Vendors interested in joining our Confederation Celebration are invited to contact us to reserve a spot. Vendors need to provide their own tent/tables. Fee $35. No electricity on this site. Please send a brief summary and photos of your products to by Monday, May 1, 2017.
