by Gay Cook

The popular Wine and Food Festival will be on our doorstep in just three weeks to be held at the Ottawa Convention Centre November 8, 9, 10 and 11. It’s an exciting chance to meet and taste the work of regional chefs and restaurateurs, sip a wide variety of superb wines from around the world including Niagara and Prince Edward county wines and enjoy delicious locally produced beers.

There will be the opportunity to meet the Canadian Gold Medal Winemaker winners  and their products. One can discover the exclusive results of the Wine Access 2012 Canadian Wine Awards competition. There is the opportunity to meet and enjoy the amazing culinary talent of restaurateur and author Martin Picard of Montreal’s Au Pied de Cochon. A fun booth to visit is The Hintonburg Public House that is part of the bacon-mania at the Festival serving their Braised Bacon Balls and other small pickup food served with a glass of Muskoka beer. The Hintonburg has teamed up with Muskoka Brewery in the booth serving their locally made Muskoka beer hence the name.
