Saturday, 15 Sep was hot and humid but the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club was not deterred from their annual year-end Thompson-McNeeley tournament.
Twenty hardy souls took to the Green at 10:00 AM under a clear blue sky for the first of two 10-end games to determine the 2018 champion. As the first game finished and noon approached, it was obvious the afternoon game would have to include a rest break due to the very high temperature. At 12:30 all players returned to the Green for the final game to determine this year’s winner. At game’s end, Bob Thomson and Marina Johnston claimed the trophy with the high score for the day.
