Mississippi Mills Finance Committee yesterday turned down Councillor Shaun McLaughlin's motion to allow backyard chickens in the urban areas of Mississippi Mills.Councillors Bernard Cameron, Alex Gillis and Duncan Abbott supported the motion. All Ramsay councillors voted against it although before amalgamation, the hamlets were allowed to keep backyard chickens. Councillor Rick Minnilli was absent from the meeting.
