Have you always been captivated by the sound of bagpipes or the beat of drums? Now’s your chance to learn. The Almonte Legion Pipe Band is welcoming new members for beginner lessons starting on October 19th till the end of March. Lessons will be 45 minutes long and will run on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. at Almonte Legion Branch 240, 100 Bridge Street, Almonte.
No prior experience is required — just enthusiasm. The band is a non-competitive, community-focused and teaching ensemble that invites pipers and drummers of all ages and abilities, from youth to seniors and from complete beginners to seasoned players. In particular, the band is recruiting serious students interested in learning how to play snare or tenor drums or bagpipes. Practicing will be required!
Members rehearse, learn traditional music and perform across the region at community parades, local celebrations and Highland games. Beyond music, the band offers a chance to connect with local heritage, make new friends and contribute to community events.
Whether you dream of joining a parade, learning a new craft, or simply want a welcoming group to grow your skills, the Almonte Legion Pipe Band provides instruction, support and an inclusive atmosphere. Instruments and instruction are tailored to learners, and experienced members mentor newcomers. There is no cost for the lessons.
