We’ve received this information from the OPP.

(ALMONTE, ON) – On June 12, 2018, at approximately 10:22 a.m., officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police attended a residence in Almonte to follow up on an investigation.

While at the residence, the officers were confronted by an aggressive dog and both officers sustained injuries. During this confrontation, the homeowner also sustained a non-life threatening injury.

As a result, the OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
