It’s time to emerge from deep hibernation! Learning Again in Almonte presents The Sociology of Emotions, a course which challenges you to look at how society dictates what you “should” feel and why.
While we usually think about feelings as deeply personal and private experiences, Instructor Dr. Golestaneh will reveal society’s role in shaping and controlling emotions such as love, shame, sadness and happiness.
A professor in the Sociology department at Carleton University, Dr. Mehrnaz Golestaneh, was mentored by Warren Thorngate whose contributions to Learning in Almonte are fondly remembered.
