A trip for a lifetime: “The Last Bus”

For the last film in this season’s series, the Mississippi Mills Film Society has chosen a sentimental journey, “The Last Bus”. For a senior, a bus pass can hold adventures to be explored, exactly what the central character decides to do: use his UK bus pass to take him clear across the country back to the special places he and his late wife enjoyed. It’s not a lonely trip, but rather an exploration of places with kind strangers who ultimately make him into a local hero. This purely fictional account could easily be a real life experience if that handy bus pass were folded in a wallet.

This film is the perfect ending for the season. It’s a harbinger of spring, of old memories and new beginnings. The film will be shown Sunday, April 13, 2 p.m. at the Almonte Legion. Tickets at $15.00 each are available through www.ticketsplease.ca . Supporting the Film Society also supports the Mississippi Mills Public Library.
