Julie Ann McGrath, at the age of 68, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026 while surrounded by her family.
Julie was loved and cared for by her husband Ron, and they raised their children in the friendly town of Almonte their entire lives. Julie loved her family fiercely, and modeled what it looks like to love selflessly and deeply. She was bold, funny and fearless, and imparted to her children how to be a kind person moving through the world. She was also the most thoughtful and generous woman, always thinking of ways to bring a laugh and smile to her grandchildrens’ faces. One day they’ll realize they had the best of the best.
Julie loved her community, and would never hesitate to offer help in any way she could. In her early years she was a soccer coach to many, and later became a volunteer at the Hub and offered support to numerous senior citizens in the town. It was also not uncommon for her to wake up early to bake her infamous cinnamon buns for someone in need, or offer up her pool to the neighborhood children on a hot day. Her impact was quiet, but far reaching.
Julie is survived by her husband Ron, children Christopher (Jamie), Brianna (Shane) and Timothy (Amanda), as well as by her six grandchildren Jude, Violet, Emma, Oliver, Reid and Collins. She will also be sorely missed by her mother Catherine and brother Tim (Xiaolin). To know Julie was to love her.
