Many Almonte citizens will be aware of the naturalistic landscape paintings of artist Blair T. Paul, a native of Almonte. He currently has an exhibition of paintings on display at the Mill of Kintail.

On July 17, 2015, artist Blair Paul presented five landscape paintings to several members of the AIM (Art in the Manor) committee, who are responsible for managing the AGH/FVM art collection, and the new Foundation manager, Al Roberts. Paul’s donated work will soon be hung on display for staff and residents to see. The paintings are of landscapes in and near Almonte, so will feel familiar to the residents and visitors.

Paul will also have an exhibition of paintings in the Manor Gallery, April-June, 2016. Interested viewers may find more of his works at his website:

The art you enjoy on the walls of both buildings is a collection built up over years of donations, ever since the early days of the hospital. From time to time the committee is happy to support local artists by purchasing a work from the exhibitions in the Gallery Lobby. The Art in the Manor Committee is happy to receive donations from the public toward such purchases, or actual works of art. Please direct any enquiries to Cathy Blake at 256-0108.
