Fatal crash closes Highway 7 near Ferguson Falls Road

oppOfficers from the Lanark County Detachment Ontario Provincial Police, assisted by Traffic Collision Investigators and staff from the Ministry of the Environment, are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 just east of Ferguson Falls Road in the township of Lanark Highlands.

The collision occurred at 12.30pm on Thursday 25th July 2013 and involved three motor vehicles.

One person was declared deceased at the scene. Another person suffering major injuries was taken by air ambulance to hospital in Ottawa and another two people with minor injuries were taken to local hospitals by Lanark County Ambulance Service.

Highway 7 remains closed between Ramsay Concession 1 and Ferguson Falls Road until at least 6.00pm.

Detours are in place but drivers are asked to avoid the area and make alternative travel plans in order to reduce traffic volume and delays.
