Just before 4 p.m. this afternoon, Almonte experienced a power outage which appears to have affected the entire town. All of downtown and the business park were without power, and the stoplights ceased to work. This was part of a larger power outage involving Ottawa when Hydro One’s supply disappeared. The black-out lasted only 10-15 minutes, but as Canadians, we continued our courteous ways. Drivers at stoplights took polite turns letting other cars through the intersections. A pleasure to see.
