Shows run: June 6 – July 10, 2026

Vernissage/Artists Reception: Saturday June 6, 2pm-4pm

From June 6 to July 10, Sivarulrasa Gallery is delighted to present CATHY ROSS: THE SEASONS in Gallery I. The exhibition features new works in watercolour by artist Cathy Ross, exploring themes of the four seasons. “As an artist I am interested in looking closely and carefully at my subject matter,” she says. “I hope my work invites others to see the wonder in the small, often overlooked details of the ordinary and the ephemeral beauty of the natural world.”

Cathy Ross was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. She studied at Mount Allison University and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Her work has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States, and has been supported by grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts. Her paintings are held in many private and public collections across Canada including Memorial University, New Brunswick Museum, Canada Council Art Bank, Banff Centre, Dofasco Inc., and the Burnaby Art Centre. She currently lives and works in Waterloo, Ontario and Saint Andrews, New Brunswick.

HANNAH CRETIEN: DÉRIVE runs in Gallery III. Through a series of portraits and abstract works, Montreal-based artist Hannah Cretien explores how persona is experienced. The small-scale works invite the viewer to come closer and discover the intricate world within each piece.

Born in Appleton, Ontario, Hannah Isabelle Cretien currently works from her studio in Montreal, exploring themes in figuration and abstraction. Working in oils, acrylics, ink and a variety of other media, she allows experimentation to guide the making of each work. “Dérive is the French word for drift,” she says. “I am carried by a current, my desire to create. My artworks aim to evoke the purity of a world where we can be ourselves without fear of judgment.”

Meet artists Cathy Ross and Hannah Cretien at the Vernissage/Artists Reception on Saturday June 6, 2pm-4pm!
