MORGAN, William “Geordie Boy”
In Loving Memory of William Morgan who passed away in the early morning hours of April 13, 2026 at the celebrated age of 100. Predeceased by his wife Jeannie and his parents John and Cecelia Morgan, William leaves behind four loving children, Nicola, Andrew, Danielle, and Lisa. William will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Rachel, Jason, Jennifer, Emily, Morgan and Connor; and by his great-grandchildren Hayden, Ella, Christopher, Ciaran, Aidan, and Elvis.
William was born in Consett in the North of England. A proud Geordie, William served with the 6th Cameronians during WWII. Shortly after the War William and his bride Jeannie emigrated to Canada where William completed his degree in Architecture at UBC in Vancouver. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Architect in 1951 eventually rising to the senior rank of Group Captain. After leaving DND in 1968 he took on the position of Head of Public Works for the Territorial Government in Yellowknife, returning to Ottawa in 1973 as the Director General of Federal / Territorial Liaison. He retired from professional service in 1984. In 1995 he moved to Blakeney, Ontario where he spent 30 of his happiest years.
A private family gathering will be held to scatter his ashes in the Mississippi River at Blakeney. A gathering of family and friends will be held in Almonte at a later date to celebrate dad’s life.
