2 Women Productions does The Odyssey at the NAC

by Jennifer Cayley

2 women production’s second core season has been successfully completed but ….. that doesn’t mean that you can’t see another fine 2wp storytelling event before next fall. We are in the final stages of creating a unique and epic performance in partnership with Ottawa Storytellers. On June 16, 18 tellers will be at the Fourth Stage of the National Arts Centre to tell Homer’s great adventure, The Odyssey, in its fullness over 12 hours! (Lots of breaks for food and talk) We already know of people coming from across Canada for this remarkable performance and Jan and I are thrilled to invite you, our 2wp listeners, to join us. Find out how rich an experience it can be to immerse yourself in one great story for that long. Our past experience with such endeavors indicates that even the skeptical find that once the story starts to roll they don’t want to miss a word! This may be a once in a life time opportunity. If you can’t be with us for the event and/or but would like to contribute to its success, you might consider having a look at our online fundraising campaign http://www.2wp.ca/odyssey/ This production is a huge undertaking and we can’t possibly cover basic expenses without help from the listening public in addition to ticket sales. There are some neat gifts offered to people who contribute and there is a very silly video on the site to make you chuckle even if you don’t want to contribute! Every dollar helps us get the “nimble witted and much enduring Odysseus home!”

Looking forward to seeing you at the NAC.
