There is no question the Enerdu project, as presently conceived, will make a significant change to the vista across the river in Almonte. And this is certainly generating much justifiable angst among Almonte residents. Much of this concern could be alleviated if the powerhouse were to be pushed farther in towards the flour mill building, taking up the present space occupied by the current generator. You can see on the attached reworked drawing that much of the existing shoreline can be preserved and that much of the powerhouse will actually be hidden behind it. This is food for thought. If we cannot succeed in stopping this project, perhaps we can at least insist that its visual impact be mitigated.
