Wednesday, November 6, 2011 marks the 150th anniversay of the birth of James Naismith the inventor of the game of basketball. Dr Naismaith, (1861-1939) was born in Ramsay Township just outside of Almonte. The Naismith home has a Canadian national historic site marker in front of the house on highway 29.
I wonder if that bronze fellow is Dr. James Naismith. Folks visiting from out of town must wonder.
