It appears that the much-needed repairs to the Back and Short bridges across the Mississippi in Almonte are behind the schedule first reported, though not by much.
It was originally thought that the work would be done by October. Repairs have taken longer than expected, and it looks like work on the Back Bridge will be done soon with Short Bridge repairs to be completed sometime in November.
Meanwhile, continue to expect brief delays navigating through downtown Almonte at busy times of day.
