BARRICADED MALE SURRENDERS PEACEFULLY TO POLICE

(ALMONTE, ON) – Around 9:40 a.m., on January 21, 2019, officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a Bridge Street address in Almonte, Ontario regarding a 26-year-old male who had barricaded himself inside his residence.

The following OPP resource units attended to assist officers: Canine, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and members of the Crisis Negotiator Team. Shortly after 4:00 p.m., the male surrendered himself to police without incident.

The incident is still currently under investigation.
