A good turnout of friends of Almonte in Concert gathered on November 20th at the Old Town Hall to discuss steps needed to revive the organization. They gave a strong and reassuring show of support for renewal, and put forward many ideas, suggestions, and offers of help to rejuvenate the AIC.
Incorporated as a non-profit charitable organization, AIC has a well-earned reputation for bringing exceptional Canadian classical and chamber music performances to Almonte, performed in the intimate and acoustically superb Old Town Hall. AIC began over 35 years ago with the idea of bringing a variety of artists to perform in our community, and it has helped foster and contribute to the growth and strength of the arts in Mississippi Mills today.
At the renewal initiative meeting, and in a subsequent email solicitation, volunteers were invited to submit their names to help out. A nominating committee agreed to propose a new Board of Directors, and will present its recommendations at the Annual General Meeting of the AIC. AIC supporters and the pubic are welcome to attend this meeting to be held on December 14th at 7 PM, appropriately enough, at the Almonte Old Town Hall.
