One of the sure signs of spring is when the winter protection tarps come off the green at the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club. Not only are the tarps off now, but the green has already been cut!! The anticipation of beautiful spring and summer evenings on the green or on the bocce ball court is palpable! This year we are delighted to offer some special opportunities to learn how to lawn bowl or play bocce ball.
On May 20, 21, 23 and 24 at 1:30 pm, there will be free instruction in lawn bowling. These sessions will provide you with a high level overview of the game, the skills/etiquette necessary for you to feel comfortable to participate in league play, and a supportive learning environment. All equipment is provided for you so just dress comfortably, wear flat, closed toe shoes and have fun. Also, please let our coordinator know if you would like to come by emailing deslocum@rogers.com.
In a similar fashion, our bocce ball coordinator, Nancy, along with other seasoned players would be delighted to welcome you to try bocce ball on May 11, 12 and 14 at 6:30pm. These sessions will be held on the new courts installed last summer, behind the club house. All equipment is provided for you. All you need to do is show up, wear flat, closed toe shoes, and have fun!
All instruction sessions will be held at the club at 157 Robert Street, Almonte. When you visit us, pick up a card that entitles you to three free visits to the club. Come on out to have some fun, make new friends and get some exercise. We look forward to seeing you there.
