EDITOR’S NOTE: We’ve actually become a little blasé about movies being shot here, as we seem to be a go-to location for movie-making these days. This notice from a crew shooting a Hallmark Channel film says that local extras will be hired; we’ll let you know when we hear more.
To the residents and businesses of Almonte,
Thank you so much for having us as guests in your town. “Seeds of Love” is a Canadian film being made for the Hallmark Channel. Although this is a low-budget production, it generates income for many local service industries. Aside from our lead actresses Ashley Williams and Marilu Henner, all of the actors, producers, and crew members are Canadian and many of us are from the Ottawa-Gatineau region. We are hiring local residents as extras, buying supplies and shopping at local businesses, and eating at local restaurants.
The main location of filming will occur at the tree located at the Cenotaph by the Old Town Hall. To ensure residents and tourists have steady access in and out of town during filming, a traffic re-route has been designed. “Local Traffic Only” signs will be in place to advise people that Bridge street between Water and Reserve is closed however all businesses on Bridge Street will be open and accessible at all times via Water and Reserve Streets. Little Bridge Street will be accessible from Mill Street only.
The actual dates and approximate times for filming are as follows:
Tuesday July 26 6:00am – 8:00pm
Wednesday July 27 7:00am – 9:00pm
Thursday July 28 7:00am – 9:00pm
Friday July 29 11:00am – 1:00am
Saturday July 30 6:00pm – 08:00am
Tuesday August 2 6:00am – 9:00pm
Wednesday August 3 7:00am – 9:00pm
Crew members and extras will park at the Fairgrounds. Cast trailers will park on the grassy area on Reserve Street. Equipment trucks will park in the Old Town Hall parking lot.
