Robert (“Bob”) Thomson
April 15, 1941 – July 24, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert “Bob,” who peacefully passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 85. Bob was born on April 15, 1941, and lived a life defined by love, hard work, curiosity, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Bob and his wife shared 63 years of marriage—they built a life together of enduring commitment, and, most importantly, raised four children of whom they were immensely proud. Their family became their greatest accomplishment, and today that legacy continues to grow through eight wonderful grandchildren.
He leaves behind his loving children: Jude (Mirla), Kim, Cindy (Mark), and Brent (Alana), along with his faithful feline companion, Doodles. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to Evan, Kelly, Kevin, Nolan, Grayden, Taryn, Abbey, and Matt, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy and countless reasons to smile.
Bob is also survived by his brother, Harvey (Linny), and their children Matt, Becky, and Kevin, with whom he shared many years of family memories.
An entrepreneur through and through, Bob built and operated a successful painting contracting business bearing his own name. His strong work ethic, integrity, and pride in a job well done earned him the respect of those who knew and worked alongside him.
While work was important, Bob’s greatest gift was his enthusiasm for life. He had an endless curiosity and an incredible ability to throw himself wholeheartedly into whatever captured his interest. Whether it was fishing, golfing, hunting, painting, collecting, or one of the many other hobbies he embraced over the years, Bob approached each new passion with excitement and joy. Watching him discover a new interest was always entertaining, and his enthusiasm had a way of drawing family and friends into the adventure alongside him.
Retirement suited Bob perfectly. Free from the demands of work, he remained young at heart, filling his days with the people and activities he loved most. He treasured time with his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his friends, and his many hobbies. He lived fully, laughed often, and genuinely enjoyed life.
Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a caring brother, a loyal friend, and a man who found happiness in both life’s simple pleasures and its greatest blessings.
His legacy lives on in the family he and his wife built together—a family grounded in love, kindness, laughter, and the values they instilled in each generation. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved him will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Bob is at peace and now reunited with Carol, together once again after a lifetime devoted to one another.
