The local Senior Games have been going on for the past 2 months in Almonte, Carleton Place and Beckwith with good competition in many games from card games to Shuffleboard and Washer Toss.
Still to come are Bocce on June 12, Lawn Bowling on June13, and Golf on June 18. The year is finished off with the Annual meeting and Banquet at the Carleton Place Legion on June 20.
District 7 covers a large area including most of Lanark County and lately part of Carleton County. The seniors in the Carp area asked to join us since the City of Ottawa no longer has an executive-too many other sports groups in a big city.
Members compete for gold, silver and bronze medals and the right to compete in the Ontario 55+ Summer Games which are in Sudbury this year from August 5-7.
