Doug Preece — obituary

Douglas John Preece

November 9, 1957 — July 6, 2018

Doug passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 6. He is survived by his wife Diana Jackson of Almonte and their daughters Jocelyn Preece (Igor Antonio and grandson Maximilian), Alison Preece and Samantha Jackson (Mark Oswald) all of Ottawa.

Doug was born in Deep River, the youngest of 6 Preece children.  Predeceased by parents Teri and Norton Preece, and survived by siblings Linda Lamoureux (Claude) of Russell, Murray Preece of Gatineau, Nancy duManoir (Bob) of Edmonton, Bob Preece (Jan) of Edmonton, and Pat Lothrop (Doug) of Calgary and many nieces and nephews.

Doug had many passions in his life and many accomplishments.  His friends and family knew him as a wonderful, kind and gifted soul who loved to play his guitar, fish and canoe, work with fine wood, make maple syrup, and raise bees and chickens.

In work he enjoyed the challenge of software design and was well respected as a mentor and team motivator.

So loved and adored, we embrace the wonderful memories of time spent together.

A celebration of life will take place in September.
