Downtown Almonte Heritage Conservation District Study

Proposed downtown heritage assessment studyMississippi Mills Council has decided to carry out a Heritage Conservation District Study that would assess the cultural heritage value of downtown Almonte and recommend whether this historic centre should be considered for Heritage Conservation District (HCD) designation under the Ontario Heritage Act. It is because of this study that Council may have the authority to pass a by-law preventing changes to the proposed district for one year.

Watson McEwen Teramura Architects is working on behalf of the Town of Mississippi Mills to undertake this study.

For those who have missed it, here is the proposal for the study
