Armstrong, Edna 1917 – 2016
Edna passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Almonte General Hospital, Rosamond Wing on Friday, April 1, 2016 in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Armstrong. Loving mother of Eric (late Judy). Predeceased by her sons Ronald (Joan) and Stanley. Dear grandmother to Cindy, Chris, Bill, Tracey, Casey, Ian, and Shawn. Great grandmother to Ben, Taylor, Brett, and Josephine. Great-great grandmother to Stella. Survived by her sister Amy Biggs (Reggie). Predeceased by her sisters Annetta Buttle, Mary Gillan, Maud Giles, Ida Guthrie, and brother Walter Bourk. Edna will be missed by her good friend Marion Armstrong and by her daughter in law, Velma Guthrie (Bill).
Edna was a life-long teacher and could recite a poem for any occasion. Her family wish to thank the staff at the Almonte General Hospital for their compassionate care.
Friends are invited to a visitation at St. George’s Anglican Church, 2786 Tatlock Road, Clayton, on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 2pm until 4pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the same location on Friday, April 8th at 11am. Reception to follow in the church hall.
