I make this Feta Caraway Spread from an old issue of Homemakers quite often. That’s because it takes five minutes to make and everyone loves it. It also travels well and is a vegetarian-friendly hors d’oeuvre. You can serve it with crudités or crackers. Just be sure to mash it well so that is more like a spread and less like little lumps of crumbled Feta, which will roll off the crackers!
Avoiding Additives and Preservatives:
The ingredients in this recipe that may contain additives and preservatives are the Feta cheese, paprika and cayenne pepper. Look for Feta cheese in brine with no chemical additives and for paprika and cayenne with no colour or anti-caking ingredients added. Also be sure to use freshly squeezed lemon juice, as concentrates contains additives such as sodium benzoate. For more recipes made with all-natural ingredients, visit www.eyeforarecipe.ca.
