
The 2025–2026 Almonte in Concert Season closes on a high note … and you won’t want to miss it.
The finale for this season has quickly come upon us. Come and join us on Saturday, April 11th at 7:30 pm at the Almonte Old Town Hall for In Schumann’s Footsteps: Dances, Dreams and Remembrances, featuring the Toronto-based Odin Quartet alongside acclaimed pianist Daniel Vnukowski.
Daniel Vnukowski is a Polish Canadian artist who has performed across four continents. Many of you may also recognize his voice as the announcer of Classical Jukebox on New Classical FM, Canada’s only full-time English-language classical music station.
The Odin Quartet, with violinists Alex Toskov and Tanya Charles, violist Matthew Antal, and cellist Samuel Bisson, has captivated audiences at Music Toronto, Music Niagara, the Luminato Festival, and the Ottawa Valley Music Festival. They have also served as Ensemble-in-Residence with the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018. Known for their dynamic, inventive approach and deep commitment to their craft, the Odin Quartet brings the kind of energy that turns a concert into a true event.
This program is sure to leave an impression. Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44, known to be an exhilarating work in chamber music, which is bursting with romantic fire and lyrical tenderness. Alongside it, you’ll hear Imprecise Memories by award-winning Canadian composer Simon Bertrand, a piece that brings a contemporary voice into conversation with Schumann’s world.
