Inaugural Movies on the Mississippi film Boyhood a resounding success

Hub Hospice_Movies on the Mississippi_poster[150120]-page-001Hub Hospice Palliative Care is pleased to announce that the launch of their film series at the Almonte Old Town Hall, Movies on the Mississippi, was a success! On February 8 the first film, Boyhood, was shown to a crowd of over 90 people who had braved the cold weather to see this world-class film.

“We are very pleased to see so many people come out to see this groundbreaking film and to support Hub Hospice Palliative Care.” says Helen McIntosh, Chair of the Hub Hospice Palliative Care Events Committee. “We were confident that Mississippi Mills would support a film series and look forward to filling the house as the weather gets better.”

In addition to our volunteers, Movies on the Mississippi gratefully recognizes our sponsors, C.R. Gamble Funeral Home, Baker Bob’s, Pêches & Poivre, Wendy O’Keefe, and Metroland.

Working with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) we present a world-class film on one Sunday afternoon each month until June. On March 15, Movies on the Mississippi will screen Cake, in which Jennifer Aniston moves away from lighter roles to play a woman dealing with chronic pain.

Movies on the Mississippi gratefully acknowledges our partnership with Film Circuit, presented by TIFF, and its sponsors and supporters. For more information about Film Circuit and to view a full list of their sponsors and supporters, please visit www.tiff.net/filmcircuit.

Tickets for Movies on the Mississippi are available at Baker Bob’s and Pêches & Poivre in Almonte, at Nicholson’s in Pakenham, or at the door. For more information about Movies on the Mississippi or about Hub Hospice Palliative Care, please visit www.hubhospice.com.
