Underwood, John “Jack”

September 2, 1933 – December 16, 2024

At home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, December 16, 2024 we lost our beloved husband, father, Papa and number one cheerleader.

Devoted husband to Flo for the past 67 years. Dear Dad to Nancy (Mark) Dowker of Almonte, Dave (Pina) Underwood of London, and Deanna (Tim) Underwood of Elmira. Cherished Papa to Sarah (Dan) Frebrowski of Colfax, NC, Mireille (Dan) of Elmira, Steven (Holly) of Woodlawn; Jackie Underwood of London, and Rosie Underwood of London. Adored Papa to great-grandchildren Jordan, Max; Riley, Emmett; Everly and Nora.

Jack taught in the Engineering Department at the University of Guelph, Centralia and Ridgetown Colleges. He was a gifted teacher, mentor, hockey trainer, woodworker, volunteer, jack of all trades and friend to all.

Visitation will take place at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10-10:45 a.m. followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.

Spring interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trinity United Church, Elmira or MS Canada would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
