Mill Street gets the autumn treatment

by Brent Eades

Members of the town’s Beautification Committee and other volunteers gathered by Baker Bob’s this morning for the annual decorating of Mill Street with corn stalks, fastened to posts and trees along the street.

The 200 stalks were provided by the James family from Geobern Farms at Rosetta. This year’s crop is especially tall and full compared to last year’s rather drought-challenged stalks, and gives the downtown a pleasantly rustic fall feel.
