Naismith student to donate hair to cancer patients

A reader sends this lovely story about a six-year-old Naismith student, Ella Munro, who is donating her red hair to help people suffering hair loss from cancer. Says Melissa Cardinal:

“I would love for you to consider running a story about my best friend’s little girl. A feel-good news story is always a boost for readers and I think this story can give everyone a smile.

“My best friend is Shannon Munro; her daughter’s name is Ella Munro. She is 6 years old and is in grade 1 at Naismith public school in Almonte. I am, with permission, going to share with you my friend’s recent Facebook post.”

Ella came to me earlier in the summer and told me out of the blue that she wanted to donate her hair. In her words “You know mom, to people who don’t have none cause they have cancer” This crazy, wild child of mine sure melts my heart. She is a free spirit who never stops, sometimes drives me batty but wouldn’t have her any other way.

So her time to shine is this Thursday September 28th when she is going to donate her hair after the Terry Fox run at her school.   So I’m asking on a very selfless 6 year old’s behalf for a small donation to help her raise money for this cause. We have all been touched in some way???. #veryproudmomma#shemeltsmyheart
