“Growing Hope” Fall 2021

Join us online for quality workshops delivered by local experts. Our workshops can help you improve your knowledge and understanding of gardening best practices, techni3ques and approaches, get informed about important subjects and become engaged in our community. See below for details about the upcoming fall online workshop series.

1) October 19 @ 7 pm- Gordon Harrison
Climate Network Lanark– Nature Solutions=Climate Solutions

Gordon will inform us about the ecological services that nature provides, including some surprising economic and social benefits. Through our shared love of nature, we can find a common ground to address our climate challenges.

2) November 16 @ 7 pm– Alberto Suarez-Esteban
Nature’s Apprentice CSA- Regenerative Agriculture 101

Alberto will introduce us to the basics of regenerative agriculture. This overview will educate us about the relevance and importance of this style of agriculture for our sustainable future.

3) December 14 @ 7 pm– Alberto Suarez-Esteban

Nature’s Apprentice CSA- Regenerative Agriculture in Action

Alberto will continue to enlighten us about the practice of regenerative agriculture. As the owner of a thriving local CSA, Alberto will share the tricks of the trade and other practical information.

Postponed Outdoor Summer Event

NTCF Project Foster Tree Program

We will teach people how to transplant a sapling, then set them up to foster the tree and nurture its development, until finally, the more mature trees will be donated to a charitable program for final sale and planting at their fir-ever home.

October 23 @ 1 pm, two Almonte locations- Allan Goddard

Allan will review the presentation from the Foster Tree program workshop (Spring 2021) and take us on an outdoor foraging workshop to two local areas, where we will collect trees and set up fostering relationships with participants.
