A New Season of Learning Again in Almonte Is On Its Way
Learning Again in Almonte is back with another season of lectures and courses on a wide variety of topics.
We kick off our fall season of courses with The Magic of Cinema, a 6-week course during which crowd favourite Tom Shoebridge will screen six masterfully curated films. Even the Learning Again team doesn’t know the titles, so bribing is futile, as Tom believes surprise is an essential emotion in movie viewing.
Beyond that, he promises: “You will laugh, you will cry, and, above all, you will think. The movies will cover the full spectrum of life, and the passage should never be boring.” We do know the movies include a mix of vintage films, fresh releases, and a standout comedy. (Sorry, absolutely no car chases!) The movies will be followed by in-depth discussions allowing participants to share their insights, reactions, and ideas with a group of fellow film buffs, guided by Tom’s expertise, experience, and passion.

We invite you to join us for an enjoyable and mouth-watering afternoon with Ameya Charnalia (originally from New Delhi) and Danielle Jeffery (a proud Almonte native).
These two are the authors of “Eat The Strip,” a hit blog and regular feature on CBC’s Ottawa Morning. They love to explore and share how immigrant entrepreneurs transform ordinary concrete plazas into cultural hubs. It is not just about food, but also about the stories behind the scenes. Come prepared to hear the stories and find some new dining gems in out-of-the-way places. Who can resist?
