Geronimo Stilton, famed reporter and author of a popular children's book series, dropped in on me in Almonte recently. The two of us toured Mill Street, the location for the fabulous Puppets Up! International Puppet Festival, together and took advantage of the spring weather. Together we visited "Poppa Jimmy", our affectionate name for the statue of James Naismith, the Almonte born sports coach and innovator who invented basketball. Geronimo caused a stir in town as he spent time at our local (and totally amazing), Mill Street Books bookstore where he spent some time encouraging and entertaining young readers.
