The Board of the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum and its Executive Director/Curator, Michael Rikley-Lancaster want extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who made this year’s “Soup for Thought” event a resounding success. Thanks to the Almonte Potters’ Guild for the matchless bowls that make that first decision for diners so very hard.
And then to the chefs at the restaurants who so generously donate the marvellous variety of soups at the heart of the event, which make the second decision even harder! They are the Heirloom Café, Foodies Fine Foods, The Barley Mow, Ace Mercado, Café Postino, the Superior Restaurant, Palms Coffee Shop, Mill Street Crêpe Company, St. James Gate, and the Good Food Company.
Patrice’s Independent Grocer donated the coffee and the rolls, Baker Bob’s donated more rolls that rounded out the first course, and the dedicated Friends of the MVTM deserve a standing ovation for the wonderful array of desserts that completed the meal. Beverage equipment was donated by Rental Village in Carleton Place. Of course, we couldn’t manage the event at all without the generous donation of dishes and utensils from Sarah Robertson of Prior Engagements.
The event raised about $4800 for the Museum’s operations and would not be possible without the Museum’s fabulous and hardworking volunteers. We want to thank each and every one of them for their dedication. They are at the heart of what we do.
And a big thank you to all those in our community who attend our events and help us to be the best we can be. See you all next year!
