Peter Jeffery — obituary

Peter David

(May 30th, 1954 – May 3rd, 2019)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter David Jeffery. This May would have been his 65th birthday.  Peter was survived by his brothers, Mike and John Jeffery, his children, Danielle, Marianne and Sean, and his beautiful fiance Penny Wheeler, who really became his Angel in life, and her son Shawn Lennox. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, many of whom he was able to re-connect with over the last year in his hard-fought battle against cancer: in the end, it was his heart that took him and he passed away suddenly on the morning of Friday, May 3rd, at the Almonte General Hospital.

We would like to thank the whole Emergency team for their efforts that morning and during the many visits we have had over the past year, and we would like to thank the many inpatient nurses, doctors, and auxillary staff who assisted in his care. Our gratitude also extends to the Irving Greenburg Cancer Centre, the Ottawa General and Queensway-Carleton Hospitals, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and Bayshore Healthcare. Donations may be made to these facilities or the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated.

Peter brought focused, caring, conscious thought to everything he did. A strong believer in the power of attraction, he believed that anything you put out into the universe, you receive back to you in various forms. He found this in the many friends he connected with in the Almonte and County community and with the many clients he had the pleasure of building for in his thirty years as a carpenter. He was proud to call Almonte home and we appreciate everyone who was able to enrich his life.

There will be an open house celebration of life held Saturday, May 18th at his Home of 119 Peacock Crescent from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a more formal service at 1:00 p.m.
