Mississippi Mills Yard of the Week is sponsored by the Almonte and District Horticultural Society.
Jennifer Pfitzer and Fred Hallahan have a charming garden at 52 Union Street North in Almonte, which was nominated by Carolyn Klickermann. Window boxes and hanging baskets with colourful red and white annuals surround the property.
All the beds are neatly edged and mulched. Many perennials including purple and white coneflower, yellow coreopsis, purple Jackmani clematis and orange and yellow daylilies are interspersed in the beds. Morning glories drape the side of the house. Guests are welcomed to a small deck and gazebo with lime green tables and chairs.
A rain barrel, which was much-needed this summer, is neatly displayed. Small bushes and trees in proportion with the property’s size complete the scene.
