In November of 2011 The Millstone published a profile of Mississippi Mills’ chief librarian Peter Nelson who, it turns out, spent a fascinating 12 years traveling the globe on a tiny budget. Readers were so intrigued that they’ve been peppering Peter with requests for more stories of his travels.
Peter has a trove of letters that he wrote to friends during that period in the 1970s, and he has kindly consented to publish them serially in the Millstone. We thank Peter and are delighted to publish the first instalment on Wednesday, February 20 2013, in a new column called “Your Stories” under “Living”, and every Wednesday thereafter until they are exhausted. You are in for a fascinating read — and ride!
If you have an interesting story about your life or an event in it, and we know you have, why not consider submitting it to the Millstone. Your neighbours will be intrigued.
